Getting Started
What is PrepareHQ?
PrepareHQ helps households build practical emergency food supplies using long-life freeze-dried food, including tins, pouches, sample packs and larger food supply bundles.
Who are these food supplies for?
Our food supplies are designed for people who want a reliable backup food store at home. They may be useful for power cuts, supply disruption, bad weather, unexpected emergencies, camping, off-grid use or general preparedness.
Where should I start if I am new to emergency food storage?
If you are just getting started, a sample pack or short-term emergency food pack is usually the easiest first step. If you already know you want a larger reserve, a 1 Month Emergency Food Supply is a simple starting point for one person.
Do I need to buy a full year of food straight away?
No. Many customers prefer to build their supply gradually. You can start with sample packs, pouches or 6 Tin Meal Boxes, then add larger standard, deluxe or family supplies over time.

Products & Packs
What is the difference between Standard, Deluxe and Family Food Supplies?
Standard Food Supplies are designed for one person and focus mainly on long-life main meals. Deluxe Food Supplies are also designed for one person but include a wider range of meals, breakfasts and desserts. Family Food Supplies are larger household supplies designed around a family of 4 and may include meals, breakfasts, desserts and extra ingredients.
What are 6 Tin Meal Boxes?
6 Tin Meal Boxes let you build your own emergency food supply by choosing specific meals, breakfasts, desserts or extra ingredients. They are useful if you want more control over what goes into your food storage.
What are pouches best for?
Pouches are lighter, smaller and easier to store than tins. They are a good option for short-term backup, vehicles, boats, camping, travel or trying meals before buying larger tins or bundles.
Do you offer vegetarian or vegan options?
Yes. Selected products and packs are available in vegetarian or vegan options. Check the product title, product description and dietary tags before ordering.
Storage
Shelf Life & Storage
How long does the food last?
Selected freeze-dried tins can last up to 25 years when stored correctly. Pouches usually have a shorter shelf life, commonly up to 7 years depending on the product. Always check the individual product page and packaging for the correct shelf life.
How should I store emergency food?
Store products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep tins and pouches sealed until needed. Once opened, reseal where possible and follow the storage guidance on the individual packaging.
Why use freeze-dried food instead of supermarket tins?
Freeze-dried food is lightweight, long-lasting and easier to store for long periods. It also reduces the need to constantly rotate short-dated supermarket tins and packets.
Can I store the food in a garage or shed?
Only if the space stays cool, dry and protected from damp, heat and direct sunlight. Extreme temperature changes and moisture can affect storage quality, so indoor storage is usually safer where possible.
Food Details
Calories & Servings
Do your packs provide 2,000 calories per day?
Not every pack is designed to provide a full 2,000 calories per day. Some Standard packs are built around main meal storage rather than a full daily diet. Short-term packs and Deluxe packs may include meals, breakfasts and desserts, but calorie levels depend on the exact product and pack contents.
Why do some packs say main meals instead of full daily food?
Some packs are designed as long-term main meal storage. This means they can form part of your emergency food supply, but you may still want to add breakfasts, desserts or extra ingredients depending on your household needs.
Where can I find exact calorie information?
Where available, calorie information is shown on the product page or packaging. If you need a full calorie breakdown before placing a large order, contact us and we’ll help confirm the details.
How much food should I store?
This depends on your household size, budget, storage space and how long you want to be prepared for. A practical approach is to start small, then build your supply gradually over time.
Delivery
Shipping & Delivery
How long does delivery usually take?
Delivery times depend on product availability, order size, courier service and delivery location. Smaller orders are usually sent by standard courier, while larger or heavier orders may take longer to arrange.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout where available. Larger or heavier orders may require multiple boxes, freight delivery or a delivery consultation before dispatch.
What happens if my order is large or heavy?
Larger food supplies may need specialist freight or pallet delivery. If this applies, we may contact you to confirm delivery access, unloading requirements and the best delivery method before dispatch.
Will I receive delivery updates?
Where tracking or courier updates are available, these will usually be sent to the email address used at checkout. For large orders, we may contact you directly before dispatch.
